The lizard’s gift, the subject of the previous installment (CS-OZEMPIC-01), had been a genuine breakthrough: it proved that a molecule could mimic the human hormone GLP-1, switch on the same receptor, and survive in the bloodstream long enough to be useful — where the human hormone itself lasts about two minutes before an enzyme called DPP-4 cuts it apart.
